Teach the Bible 101

This is a basic Bible teaching class, co-lead by Pastor Eric Curtis, Pastor Michael Slivkoff, & Pastor Marcus Handy. The goal is for this class to meet monthly (last Thursday) for at least 6 months and to convey Bible teaching fundamentals and give opportunities for teaching and for direct feedback.

Class Schedule:

Class 1: Intro and Purpose, Knowing the material to teach, Inductive Bible study

Recommended Book: The Seven Laws of Teaching by John Milton Gregory

Class 2: Law of the learner: acquiring (and keeping) the interest and attention of the learner;  2 each -  20 min devotion spots for students to teach devotion

Class 3: Language; 2 each - 20 min devotion spots for students to teach devotion

Class 4: Lesson: truth taught must be learned through truth already known; 2 each - 20 min devotion spots for students to teach devotion

Class 5: Lesson, (laws 5, 6); 2 each - 20 min devotion spots for students to teach devotion

Class 6: Lesson: review/application; - 2 each - 20 min devotion spots for students to teach devotion

Class 7: Lesson; 2 each - 20 min devotion spots for students to teach devotion
